Kate Maples-Andrade MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Kate Maples-Andrade began her career as an adult educator after graduating from the University of Colorado Denver with a Bachelor’s of Arts in English Literature.  Kate tutored medical math and anatomy for CNA and LPN students, basic physics and circuits for HVAC students, and also taught adult math classes at what was then Emily Griffith Opportunity School, now Emily Griffith Technical College. Kate volunteered at Swedish Medical Center in the Emergency Department for two years while teaching and tutoring at Emily Griffith.

Kate departed her teaching and tutoring position at Emily Griffith Technical College and returned to school at Metropolitan State University and received her Bachelor’s of Science, Nursing Science in the accelerated program.

Upon receiving her BSN, Kate served as a nurse at Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. Kate worked in the Orthopedic and Intensive Care Units, where she managed complex cases and was twice nominated for the Nightingale Luminary Award.

Kate returned to school at Regis University after 5 years of service at Rose, and continued her RN career at Rose while in school. Kate graduated from Regis University with her Master’s degree in Family Practice Nursing.

While finishing her advanced degree, Kate served on the COVID step down unit at Rose, and witnessed the ravages of the pandemic firsthand. Kate also served as a primary provider at a COVID testing site during the pandemic.
